Scripture on Purity

“How can a young person stay pure? By obeying Your word”. (Psalm 119:9, NLT)

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about these things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (Philippians 4:8, NLT)

Scripture on Hope

“When doubts fill my mind, Your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.” (Psalm 94:19, NLT)

“I pray that God, the source of all hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13, NLT)

Scripture on Regrets

“Have mercy on me O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassions blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night.” (Psalm 51-1-3, NLT)

“So what do people get in all this life for all their hard work and anxiety? Their days of labor are filled with pain and grief; even at night their minds cannot rest. It is meaningless.” (Ecclesiastes 2:22-23, NLT)

Scripture on the Meaning

“God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy to those who please Him. But if a sinner becomes wealthy, God takes the wealth away and gives it to those who please Him. This, too, is meaningless – like chasing the wind.”
(Ecclesiastes 2:26, NLT)

“Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey His commands, for this is everyone’s duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.” (Ecclesiastes `12:13-14, NLT)

Scripture on Happiness

“How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying His commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. They themselves will be healthy and their good deeds will last forever.” (Psalm 112: 1-3, NLT)

“Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! (Ecclesiastes 5:10, NLT)

Scripture on Unity

“I appeal to you, my dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.” (1 Corinthians 1:10, NLT)

“Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from His love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other loving one another, and working together with one mind and one purpose.” (Philippians 2:1-2, NLT)

Scripture Favorites

On a recent FB post, there was a request for folks to share their favorite Scriptures. Below are some of my favorite Scriptures (all taken from the NLT). I invite you to respond and share your favorite Scriptures.

Romans 12:1-2 “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all that He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, this is good and pleasing and perfect.”

Psalm 51:10-12 “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from Your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey You.”

Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Ephesians 2:8-10 “G0d saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”

Micah 6:8 “…O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires form you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
