Scripture on Prejudice

“But the Lord said to Samuel ‘Don’t judge by his appearance or. hight, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see the. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”” (1 Samuel 16:7, NLT)

“There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you all are one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.” (Galatians 3:28, NLT)

Jesus, The True Vine

“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the Gardner. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and He prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in Me and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot proceed fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in Me.

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. Anyone who does remain in Me is thrown away like a useless branching withers. Such branches are gathered up into a pile and burned. But if you remain in Me and My words remain in you, you ay ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to My Father.” (John 15:1-8, NLT)

Excerpts from Psalm 9

” I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of the marvelous things You have done. I will be filled with joy because of You. I will sing praises to Your name, O Most High.”

“But the Lord reigns forever, executing judgment from His throne. He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness. The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know Your name trust in You, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for You. Sing praises to the Lord who reigns in Jerusalem. Tell the world about His unforgettable deeds.”

“Arise, O Lord! Do not let mere mortals defy You! Judge the Nations! Make them tremble in fear, O Lord. Let the nations know they are merely human.”
(Pslam 9: 1-2; 7-10; 19-20, NLT)

Psalm 8

“O Lord, our Lord, your majestic names fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, and all who oppose You.

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers – the moon and the stars you set in place – what are mere mortals that You should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made then only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.

You gave then charge of everything You made, putting all things under their authority – the flocks and the herds and all the world animals, the birds that fly, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.

“Oh Lord, our Lord you majestic name fills the earth!”

Scripture on Caring

“Even when you are chased by those who seek to kill you, your life is safe in the care of the Lord your God, secure in His treasure pouch! But the lives of your enemies will disappear like stones shot from a sling!” (1 Samuel 25:29, NLT)

“For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the Lord takes care of the godly. Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever.” (Psalm 37:17-18, NLT)

Psalm Chapter 6 (A Song of David)

“O Lord, don’t rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your rage.
Have compassion on me, Lord, for I am weak.
Heal me Lord, for my bones are in agony, I am sick at heart.
How long, O Lord, until you restore me?

Return, O Lord, and rescue me. Save me because of your unfailing love.
For the dead do not remember you. Who can praise. you from the grave?

I am worn out from sobbing. All nightI flood my bed with weeping, drenched it with my tears. My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies.

Go away, all your who do evil, for the Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will answer my prayer . May all my enemies be disgraced and terrified. May they suddenly turn back in shame.”
(Psalm 6)
