Love One Another, 1 John, Chapter 3

We know what real love is because Jesus gave up His live for us. So we ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion – how can Go’s love be in that person?

Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other: let us show the truth by our actions. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. Even if we fell guilty, God is greater tha our feelings, and He knows everything.

Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. And we will receive from Him whatever we ask because we obey Him and do the things that please HIm.

And this is His commandment: We must believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with Him. And we know He lives in us because the Spirit He gave us lives in us. (vv. 16-24, NLT)

Living as Children of God, 1 John, Chapters 2-3

And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when He returns you will be full of courage and not shrink back from Him in shame.

Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children. (1 John 2:28-29, NLT)

See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know Him. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as He is pure. (1 John 3:1-3, NLT)

Warning about the Antichrists, 1 John Chapter 2

Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the. Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the last hour has come. These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong to us.

But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you His Spirit, and all of you know the truth. So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies. And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ. Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist. Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son and has the Father also.

So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. And in this fellowship we enjoy the eternal life He has promised us. (vv. 18-25, NLT)

Do Not Love This World, 1 John Chapter 2

Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world only offers craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave . But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. (vv 15-17, NLT)

A New Commandment, 1 John Chapter 2

Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment for you; rather it is an old one you have had from the very beginning. This is the old commandment- to love one another- is the same message you heard before. Yet it is also new. Jesus lived the truth of this commandment, and you also are living it. For the darkness is disappearing, and the true lights is already shining.

If anyone claims , “I am living in the light,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is still living in darkness. Anyone who loves another brother or sister is living in the light and does not cause others to stumble. But anyone who hates another brother or sister is still living and walking in darkness. Such person does not know the way to go, having been blinded by the darkness. (vv. 7-11, NLT)

Living in the Light, Part 2; 1 John Chapter 2

My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone doe sins, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the who is truly righteous. He Himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins- and not only our sins but the sins of the world.

And we can be sure that we know Him if we obey His commandments. If someone says, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love Him. That is how we know we are living in Him. Those who say we know we are living in Him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did. (vv. 1-6, NT)

Living in the Light, Part: 1 John Chapter 1

This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light and there is no darkness inHim at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not loving in the truth. But if we confess our sins to Him, Hew is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that His words has no place in our hearts. (vv.5-10, NLT)

Introduction, 1 John Chapter 1

We proclaim to you the One who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw Him with our very eyes and touched Him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. This is the One who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen Him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that He is the One who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. we proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy. (vv. 1-5, NLT)

Peter’s Final Words, 2 Peter Chapter 3

I am warning you ahead of time, dear friends. Be on guard so that you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

All glory to Him , both now and forever! Amen. (vv. 1-18, NLT

The Day of the Lord is Coming, 2 Peter Chapter 3

This is my second letter to you, dear friends, and in both of them I have tried to simulate your wholesome thinking and refresh your memory. I want you remember what the holy prophets said long ago and what our Lord and Savior commanded through your apostles.

Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.

They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of His command, and He brought the earth from out of the water and surrounded it with water. Then He used water to destroy the ancient world with a might flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. The are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.

But you must not forget the one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. (vv. 1-10, NLT)

And remember, our Lord’s patience give people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him – speaking of these things in all his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in destruction. (vv. 15-16, NLT)
